Howard Klopak

Howard has the great fortune to work at things he is passionate about. He has worked with many artist such as Sass Jordan, Blue Rodeo, Loverboy, Kim Mitchell, Harlequin, Doc Walker, to name a few, and is currently mixing front of house for the legendary Guess Who, consisting mostly of fly dates across North America.

His work with the Guess Who leaves time to work on artist development and recording in the Groove Jungle recording studio, plus he provides mixing and mastering services to help out other artist/producers. He also continues to mix live shows with other artists, or consult in a myriad of related areas, whenever the opportunity arises.

Howard also takes on business consulting projects, generally focused in the areas such as: strategic planning, faculties renovation/construction, design & manufacturing, information technology or system design/selection/implementation projects.

He is part of the Transformative Building Group in Manitoba, with the goal of convincing builders and buyers to build and renovate residential and commercial buildings, utilizing design principles such as Passive House, so that the buildings need fewer systems, consuming only 20% of the energy compared to current building standards.

Howard is a hundred-per-center and a tremendous guy to work with a meticulous personality. He will do whatever it takes to get the job done right. Howard is one of the most driven people I know. Everything he does is world class caliber… it all stems back to his personality and just the way he approaches life in general. . . He can do anything that is thrown at him. He could probably do brain surgery if he needed to. . . he’s quite a MacGyver.

He has a set of golden ears. If he walks in to an unknown system, he can go in and say, ‘Hey this is out of phase’ and he has the ability to get in there and fix it as well, as opposed to just saying, ‘fix this’. Loverboy recorded a live show with Howard in Winnipeg. Howard did a great job, through his complete mastery of a plethora of recording equipment, as it was a very complex setup, including all the state of the art outboard gear. I was impressed with his easy going attitude, and his professionalism.
